With more than 140 original oils in its product line, dōTERRA® sources its oils from over 45 countries.  They travel the world to find the purest oils an sourcing them where the plants indigenously grow.

This ensures the potency of the oil is optimized by growing in its organic region with naturally controlled sunlight, altitude, water, soil, and temperature.  Many essential oil providers farm and produce the oils themselves in unnatural conditions - not dōTERRA®.

dōTERRA® partners directly with farmers that have been harvesting the land and plants for generations.  The farmers follow stringent standards including using no pesticides or chemicals, utilizing only the therapeutic part of the plant and a proprietary distillation process is used that dōTERRA® oversees.

Through the co-impact sourcing initiative, dōTERRA® also helps build schools, housing, health clinics, provide running water, and more to these incredible communities all over the world.

dōTERRA® Testing

dōTERRA® oils are the most tested essential oils and the most trusted essential oils.

The purity of an essential oil is its most important characteristic.  When an essential oil is adulterated or contaminated, it becomes less effective and can even be dangerous.  Many essential oils on the market are created to be "fragrant," meaning they have no therapeutic properties.

Each batch of dōTERRA® essential oils goes through a battery of rigorous tests to ensure you and your family receive only the most pure, potent, and therapeutic oils on earth.

dōTERRA® runs 54 types of testing on EVERY liter of oil produced to ensure its pure and potent.  Every liter is also sent out for third-party testing.  No other company is as transparent as this, they want you to know you are getting the very best!  If the oil does not pass the test, it will not be sold, period.

For me, this was the largest determining factor in deciding to use dōTERRA® for my family.  If it's going on my baby's skin, I need to be sure it's not compromised in any way.

dōTERRA® Transparency

dōTERRA® begins the Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade (CPTG) testing process shortly after distillation, when each oil is reviewed for its chemical composition.  The dōTERRA® production facility carries out a second round of testing to ensure that the oils distilled and tested during the first round are the same ones that arrived at our facility.  A third review of the chemistry of the oils is conducted as the oils are packaged into the bottles before they're shipped out to consumers.

Each test confirms that our essential oils are free of contaminants and that no unexpected alterations occurred during production.
